WATER: Power grab at work
It seems common sense in the water adjudication process doesn’t really apply.
Since I live miles away from the reservation, and don’t have any streams on my property, I delayed filing, as I wondered who would want my ground water rights.
I soon found out after receiving notice of a hearing in a District Court as the late filing is contested. In speaking to the water rights coalition, it seems the tribe wants all water rights to lakes, rivers, streams and all ground water.
I also find that our government is representing the tribe with our tax dollars.
When I voiced my concerns with a senator’s aide, I was chastised as one of those who should try to get along better with the tribe.
It’s also a waste of time with state representation, as ours is a member of the tribe, duly elected by the college Demo liberals in Moscow.
It’s obvious the liberal press won’t bring up this greedy power grab, as they might offend someone or be called racist for any factual reporting. It’s easier to just let the poor tribe with the big casinos have their way. Kudos to Butch for not eliminating their competitors for them.
Although I haven’t joined the groups buying large amounts of ammunition, none of my friends are going to the casinos.
Not having to pay highway/road taxes and often not garbage fees aren’t enough, they want to control all the water. Are carbon taxes and water meters for whites only next? Hopefully the tribe members we know as good neighbors will wake up and speak up.
