Sept. 30, 1938 - Aug. 25, 2015

Tony Hatfield, 76, of Rathdrum, Idaho, lost his battle with cancer on Aug. 25, 2015.

Survivors include his daughter, Karen Corbit (husband Bill) of Rathdrum; son Boyd Hatfield (wife Marie) of El Cajon, Calif.; grandchildren Ashton Corbit, Kyle Corbit, Lance Hatfield, Brooke Hatfield and Brad Hatfield; and sister-in-law Jean Hatfield. Preceded in death: wife Helen Hatfield; brother Brian Hatfield; and parents Jack and Isabella Hatfield.

Tony Hatfield was born in Scotland on Sept. 30, 1938. As a young man Tony joined the Royal Navy where he served as a Navigator. Later he moved to Canada where he would meet his beloved wife of 49 years, Helen Hatfield. Tony and Helen were very proud parents of two children, Karen and Boyd. They moved to the United States in 1964. Tony and Helen were the classic examples of the American Dream, starting with very little and building a successful life. Tony was a commercial diver which brought great adventures and stories that he loved to share. Later he and his wife Helen opened Homes for at risk teens in Southern California. In 2003 they finally retired in beautiful North Idaho.

A grand life would not be complete without the pride of beautiful grandchildren; Tony and Helen were blessed with five, Ashton Corbit, Kyle Corbit, Lance Hatfield, Brooke Hatfield and Brad Hatfield.

Private services will be held at a later date. In remembrance of Tony we encourage you to enjoy a fine glass of your favorite spirit, remember the adventures in your life, and most importantly express your love for those nearest to your heart.
