LAKELAND: Don't sell it short

First I would like to say; Love the newspaper. I start off my day reading a hard copy. I would like to make a comment regarding Jake Parrish [photographer] for your newspaper.

I believe the photos that are published are outstanding. However, I truly feel that the Lakeland High School sports program is getting short changed. Every time I open the sports section I find massive photos about Coeur d’Alene High and Lake City High. I know these are great schools and have a lot of money pumped into them [Group 5A] because of the large population, but what about the small schools? Do you realize the Lakeland High School Soccer team is heading to state? Never won state and can make history.

The Lakeland soccer team handed the mighty Lake City group 5A soccer team their only loss this year? I know Lakeland High School’s town of Rathdrum is small, but come on… Let’s give some love to this small, but powerhouse group of athletes…
