PERMIT: City wrong to charge

Our local government has become so greedy, I could hardly believe it when informed I would need a building permit costing $100 to replace the shingles on the roof of my modular home. Now they are demanding $100 building permit for people whose house lost a roof due to the wind storm.

What about those poor folks who had homes damaged by falling trees? Do they not know this is not construction of a new house, only necessary repairs? Who is responsible for these bad laws?
