LETTER: Based on misconception
Dear Mr. Ambrosetti; In your letter published Nov. 8, your premise (or, you make a point) that “homosexual abuse” is what occurred with respect to the individual who was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing multiple victims. Being homosexual and behaving as a sexual deviant are distinctly different. Unfortunately, it appears you do not know the difference as represented in your LTE. What occurred with your (former) church member is clearly, and exclusively, an act of sexual predation and is NOT what a homosexual man would consider. Is homosexuality normal? In my humble opinion, it is. Your misrepresentation of GLBTQ human beings is an affront to anyone who understands and respects human sexuality and diversity.
Further, “The Coeur d’Alene Press knows it is difficult to wash off the mud of innuendo and aspersion! We all have to live together here…” is your mud-job upon The Press and everything WE “want for North Idaho.” It is my hope and practice to treat ALL human beings equally. You included, Mr. Ambrosetti, and it is my hope you can do so also.
RALPH D. SHAY
