POT: End the misguided war

| May 29, 2015 9:00 PM

The revolution is here to stay. The revolution is truth. The war on people needs to end. I am asking people to change their perceptions on drugs and mental health. The only reason drugs hurt society is because of these policies and systems you are enforcing.

Dr. Carl Hart, speaker for the Drug Policy Alliance and professor of psychiatry at Columbia University, says “Everything you have been taught about drugs is a lie.” Millions of people have been incarcerated for nonviolent drug offenses. Incarceration rips apart families and communities. Millions have been locked up (under the false publication DSM-V) into mental hospitals. This does not help our financial health care crisis.

Still others face housing, employment, health, family court and human rights issues because of the current drug policies. Instead of looking down on and pointing fingers toward the people of the revolution, please change your perceptions. Drugs sold in the pharmacy are the same if not worse than street drugs. The difference is the regulations. Methamphetamine, synthetic heroin, etc. are sold in the pharmacy under scientific drug names. Educate yourself. Many are ignorant to the truth.

Drug use does not cause poverty or crime. Drug use does not cause child neglect. Please stop hurting us financially, emotionally, spiritually and physically. Drugs are not the problem — the ignorance is.

Change is inevitable. Start today in changing for the better. Let LOVE shine. It’s time for a New Approach. Peace and ONE LOVE. Coeur d’Alene Cannabis Club, Green Party, New Approach Idaho.
