Man dies in logging truck accident
ST. MARIES - A 49-year-old Lewiston man died in a logging truck accident in Benewah County on Tuesday morning.
According to Idaho State Police, Danny Boyd, 49, was eastbound at 6:09 a.m. on Highway 6 in a 1985 Kenworth at milepost 34 when he failed to maintain his lane and struck a concrete barrier.
The trailer loaded with logs separated from the truck. The truck went off the road, down an embankment, overturned and was submerged in 5 feet of water.
Boyd was not wearing a seat belt, according to ISP.
An investigation continues.
Police: Woman, brother charged in hatchet attack
LAS VEGAS (AP) - An Idaho woman who was having an affair orchestrated a gruesome Las Vegas hatchet attack that left her husband dead with his head nearly severed while they were on a family trip on Memorial Day, police said.
Police identified the victim as Enrique Hernandez, 43, who had chop wounds on his neck, head and right leg.
Maria Hernandez, 33, of Idaho, and her brother, Hector Gutierrez, 22, of California, will now face charges of murder with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit murder, authorities said.
The woman originally called in the fatal incident around 2:30 a.m. Monday as a carjacking.
