Matthew William Sande, 38
Matt Sande, 38, of Rathdrum, Idaho, passed away suddenly on May 18, 2015.
Matt was born Jan. 7, 1977, in Burien, Wash. He moved with his mother Michaelle to Coeur d'Alene in 1980, and gained a father upon Michaelle's marriage to Kenneth Sande in 1982.
Matt graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School in 1995, and attended North Idaho College.
In 1997, Matt wed the love of his life, Regina Haney. In 1998 the couple welcomed into the world their beautiful daughter, Lily Dawn, and in 2002 their family grew once again with the birth of their son, Carson.
Matt worked in the computer field and as an information technology specialist for the majority of his career, working for various companies including Alert Micro Systems, and eventually landing his dream job as the IT systems administrator for the Idaho Department of Lands in 2009.
Matt was an active member of his community as a member of the Rathdrum Little League Board and as a Little League coach and umpire, as well as the Coeur d'Alene Dog Fanciers and Habitat for Humanity.
Matt loved his family, coaching and teaching his children and so many others, baseball, logical discourse, Star Wars and Disney. Matt had a deep passion for music and was a member of several bands over the years, including Final Plea and Hidden Tension. Matt's friends would describe his love for the Seattle Seahawks and the Seattle Mariners as irrational, inexplicable, but completely fitting of his personality.
Matt was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wendell and Maxine Sande, Jack Glueck, and Mona Martin; and Regina's grandfather, Donald P. Haney.
Matt is survived by his wife, daughter and son: Regina Sande, Lily Dawn and Carson of Rathdrum; father and mother, Ken and Michaelle Sande of Hayden, Idaho; brother Keith Sande of Hayden; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dave and Nancy Haney of Rathdrum; brother-in-law Chad Haney and his wife Kim Haney; brother-in-law Brad Haney and his wife Jody Haney, and their children Tory, Leah, and Kate; uncle and aunt, Dave and Janie Sande; and Regina's grandmother, Lynn Haney, who will all miss him dearly.
A service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene, for family and friends.
