MACAULEY: Here's rest of the story

After reading about George Carnie in Keith Cousins’ article I became curious about Bob Macauley. I wanted to know what kind of a man would mortgage his home to save those kids. I Googled his name with Connecticut after it.

After the plane crash he went with his charity work and in 1982 established AmeriCares, the largest private charity in the U.S. They have distributed more than $12 billion in humanitarian supplies around the world and in the U.S. He died in 2010 at the age of 87. Incidentally he and George H.W. Bush were roommates at Yale.
