The Village at Orchard Ridge has new church engagement coordinator

Mary Stewart was recently hired as the church engagement coordinator, a newly created position at The Village at Orchard Ridge. The nonprofit senior living campus is governed by 22 local churches, and Stewart's role will be to nurture relationships with each of them.

Stewart previously served as a member of The Village at Orchard Ridge board of directors and stepped down from her role because of her passion for the position.

Stewart is a parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church, where she was a member and past president of the church's Parish Council. She has been involved with numerous ministries in her 23 years with the parish, including being a part of the grassroots effort that started Holy Family Catholic School in Coeur d'Alene, and where she later worked as the school's first development director and capital campaign manager.

Stewart also has a personal past with the organization as a home for her mother. "My mother was a true example of a faith-filled woman. The Christian mission of The Village at Orchard Ridge is felt as soon as you enter the doors," Stewart said.

Since her mother's passing, Stewart continued as a hands-on volunteer with residents and is pleased to transition to employee. "I feel close to my mother when I'm here. Transitioning to a member of this outstanding staff in helping to carry out their Christian mission is just one way I can continue to honor my mother's memory and work where my passion lies."
