S1067: Leave well enough alone
Idaho can develop and pay for its own child support network. It has in the past. I know of no state that would refuse us information of employment or residency. We have 106 trained employees and 19 full-time lawyers to handle the cases we now deal with. Of all the cases now active, 97 of them deal with foreign countries. Sixty of these cases are in Canada, which has not signed on to the Treaty of The Hague. These are now being handled just fine. The children ARE being taken care of by the State of Idaho.
The National Portal they now threaten us with is itself useless if it does not contain the information of all 50 states, but only the 19 who have succumbed to this outrageous, illegal threat.
We must begin to live within OUR means — not on the federal government’s newly printed money, borrowed from China and other foreign nations. Federal dollars now represent nearly 35 percent of Idaho’s spending. It will end. Let’s start now.
We voted no and Gov. Otter is now calling us back to session.
