POEM: Shades of Blue
Police radios goin’ crazy there’s a shooter in town
Tears will come like rain for the officer down
Not just any cop
Unselfishly trying to turn lives around
In his heart room for all can be found
Born is the legend of K27
With that trademark smile
He’s still in service with God in heaven
His spirit will carry on through
In uniforms of browns and greens
And different shades of blue
To serve and protect is what K27 was trying to do
Police can’t just let the bad guys rule
Breaking the law
This time buddy won’t pay for you
Justice will cry out for the man in blue
Born is the legend of K27
With that trademark smile
He’s still in service with God in heaven
His spirit will carry on though
In uniforms of browns and greens
And different shades of blue
Not just any cop
That’s what they say
Turn your life around
And give K27 his day
Born is the legend of K27
With that trademark smile
He’s still in service with God in heaven
His spirit will carry on through
In uniforms of browns and greens
And different shades of blue
