FOUNTAIN: More than the obvious
Over the past few days I have read eight letters in support of Lakes Highway District Commissioner candidates. Six were in favor of Diane Fountain and two supported Dan Malcolm. I wanted to provide a letter of support for Diane Fountain but did not want to restate the obvious that most of the other letters rightly pointed out.
Having worked in banking and finance, both federal and state agency administration, municipal and tribal administration and being involved in project management of multi-million dollar projects, I have a background to understand the strengths that Diane would bring to this position. Diane has worked in a financial and administrative support capacity for boards and understands what a governing board needs to make good decisions. In her current job, she has been very much in the middle of all the administrative management activities and all the various agency projects in Post Falls. Diane has not only worked in identifying issues but has been involved in determining appropriate issue resolution. This comes from asking the right questions and being sensitive to all of the people involved, taking into consideration their differing perceptions and understanding of the issues.
The question now is who to support for Lakes Highway District Commissioner. The right answer, I believe, is Diane Fountain.
