MOORE: Lived in a great place

| May 10, 2015 9:00 PM

Proud to live in this community I just couldn’t sleep…tossing and turning and my brain wouldn’t shut down! So I decided to write down my thoughts and deepest feelings.

Community is a powerful word and I’m proud to say what a wonderful community we live in. This community has rallied around a terrible event that took the life of a father, husband and community protector. From the local and social media outlets, the candlelight vigils, the abundance of local businesses helping and donating and to the people reaching out to help in any way they can has been uplifting and heartwarming. When an entire community comes together, great things can happen.

In fact, this tragic event has people far and wide sending cards to the family and wanting to help and donate money. It is this type of strength and unity that makes Coeur d’Alene and this country the best place to live in. Greater love has no one than this; to lay down one’s life for one’s friends; John 15:13.

Thank you Sgt. Greg Moore for your service to our community and the ultimate sacrifice you paid. Thanks to all the men and women who continue to serve and protect and keep us safe on their watch. I am truly inspired and touched by what I am seeing. However, I’m not shocked as I do feel that most people are good. We just hear so much bad that we forget there is so much good in the world. I love this community and this country and I am confident that we will all be better people because of what we have witnessed this week. My hope is that this outreach of support brings the Moore family some peace. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the sacrifice your family has made for this community and it will always be remembered.
