Keith Aaron Tenty
Keith Aaron Tenty was born on July 16th 1981 in Modesto, California, a sunny day, bringing sunshine into our lives. Keith lived in a loving home and in the house next door lived his grandparents and other family members.
Keith's entire school years were spent in his childhood home, attending Beard and Enslen elementary schools, Roosevelt Junior High, Downey and Johansen High schools, eventually graduating from Elliot in 1999.
Keith played baseball, received a MVP for soccer and participated in many other sports. Keith worked from a young age, many jobs that included years of paper routes from the age of 12 to adulthood and a cameraman for cutting horse shows.
At the age of 19 Keith moved with his family to Coeur d' alene, Idaho. He worked for years as a professional barista, a café manager, restaurant worker, with a short stint in security, all while attending college part time. First at North Idaho College and then moving to Boston while his sister Tiffany was attending the University of Massachusetts; he attended Quincy College.
Keith lived in and around Boston for four years and in 2012 when his Mother and Grandmother were both hospitalized for serious illnesses, he moved back to Coeur d' alene, Idaho to be with them.
Keith was an avid reader and self educated, reading a great variety of classic literature, as well as science, history, political and environmental books. He loved movies, music, played the flute and drums and all his life went to many, many concerts, musicals, symphonies and theatre in every genre. Keith was currently pursuing a Bachelors of Arts degree, majoring in History at Lewis & Clark College.
All his life Keith suffered greatly from chronic depression. On May 4th, 2015, at the age of 33, a beautiful sunny day, beneath a gorgeous tree, Keith could not see any joy in life, and exercising his free will, took his own life with a gun he bought just an hour or two before he died, despite the fact that he hated guns.
Keith was close with his Mother, Deborah Kay Reese Tenty, his Grandmother, Beulah Lucille Hurley Reese and his Father, Hendrik (Han) Johannes Tenty, who all have been left with broken hearts.
Keith's loved ones included his brother Han Jarad Tenty, his sister-in-law Amy Tenty, nephew Henry Gage Tenty, and niece Lola Grace Tenty, all of Bend, Oregon. His sister Tiffany Amber Tenty and brother-in-law Farzad of Melbourne, Australia. His Grandfather Johnnie Lee Reese Sr., Uncle John Reese Jr., cousins Victoria and Brittany Reese, all of Coeur d' alene, Idaho. And literally dozens and dozens of caring aunts, uncles, 23 first cousins (plus their spouses), second cousins, and friends.
We will always love you, our beloved Keith Aaron Tenty, a shooting star on an eternal ride.
Keith will be cremated and a memorial will be set at a later date. Your kind messages and photos (labeled with name and date) of yourself and Keith for his memory book can be sent to The Reese and Tenty Family at P.O. Box 3935, Coeur d' alene, Idaho 83816.
