MOORE: Praying for his family

Residents of Coeur d’Alene are heartbroken over the loss of Sgt. Greg Moore. As an officer of the Coeur d’Alene Police Department, he chose to put himself in harm’s way daily to better our community. The Coeur d’Alene Police Department works 24/7 to keep us safe. They protect the lifestyles of people they don’t even know. I’m embarrassed that I haven’t thanked them for that lately.

Behind Sgt. Moore’s badge is a family. As a proud daughter of a retired law enforcement officer, I know what it’s like to lend your family member for the greater good of society. The Moore family deserves recognition, appreciation and compassion for supporting a man who protected so many. I can’t begin to understand the nightmare that is your reality in this moment, but I pray for your comfort. My heart goes out to you.

It’s disgusting that one punk can torture a family and the entire public with senseless brutality toward an outstanding member of our community. His name is not worth mentioning. It does not deserve a spotlight. All I can say is may God have mercy on your soul because I do not.

Thank you Greg Moore for your service. Thank you Coeur d’Alene Police Department for facing what we fear. I encourage you all to show your appreciation to the Coeur d’Alene Police Department and provide support to the Moore family in any way. God bless Greg Moore, his family and the respectable men in uniform.
