REED: Unselfish to the very end

| May 6, 2015 9:00 PM

I am very sad of the passing of my friend Scott Reed. Scott was a most remarkable advocate for Kootenai County, and a shining example of how an attorney can operate within the constraints of their ethics and still serve his clients and the community. I will miss his immense intelligence and his wit. He was always the biggest man in the room not because of his stature but because of the way he carried himself. He used his intelligence to peel a problem like an onion, noticing and respecting every layer while he resolved the question to the benefit of his beloved community.

Scott’s shoes can never be filled and his brilliance will always be a beacon to those of us who love North Idaho the way he did. Hero, yes, Hall of famer, yes, we are richer in knowing him and better due to his unselfish life. He was truly a gentleman in the purest sense and I will miss him!
