F&G: What's on hunting horizon

| May 6, 2015 9:00 PM

On April 30 an article appeared expressing the harmful effect that “catch-and-release” has on trout. The Idaho Department of Fish and Game Commission endorses “catch and release” which, in itself, suggests that it is a mistake.

I can’t wait until the Fish and Game Commission endorses the same concept for hunters. Shoot an elk with a tranquilizing dart, watch it tumble down a mountainside, breaking bones in the process, take a photo of it, and on the way home, stop at a supermarket and buy some beef steaks for your barbecue.

This is probably not realistic because Fish and Game has reintroduced wolves, who are eating most of the elk anyway.

P.S. Who paid to have wolves reintroduced into Idaho? We did! The taxpayers.

Now these clueless incompetents have decided that there are areas in which there is a surplus of wolves and a shortage of elk. (Duh!)

Their solution? Pay professional hunters, using helicopters, to shoot wolves in the winter time, at taxpayers’ expense!
