Lamona Arthur Stinnette, 77
On April 21, 2015, Jesus wrapped his loving arms around Lamona Arthur Stinnette and took her home to be with him after a battle with heart disease.
Lamona was born Feb. 28, 1938, in Nebraska to John and Charlotte Collins. Later she moved to Oregon, Montana and settled for the remainder of her life in Idaho.
Lamona believed wholeheartedly in higher education, and devoted a portion of her life to attaining a master's degree in education while raising three children and working full time. She was a secretary for a real estate agency in her early career, followed by an elementary and high school teacher. She was a professor at North Idaho College until she retired.
Lamona enjoyed spending time in the kitchen preparing festive meals for her family members. Every Christmas her grandchildren placed an order with her for their favorite treat. She always delivered! Every birthday, anniversary and holiday was a special occasion, and she recognized each and every one with her caring way.
Family meant everything to Lamona, and her infectious smile would light up a room. Her family and friends miss her very much.
Lamona was preceded in death by her mother and father, Charlotte and John Collins; and her sister, Sharon DeBauw.
Lamona is survived by her loving husband, Paul Stinnette; her children, Dave Arthur and daughter-in-law Brenda of Spokane, John and daughter-in-law Jill of Coeur d'Alene, and Debbie Buck of Coeur d'Alene; seven grandchildren: Cole Arthur, Cory Arthur, Jesse Arthur, Jaden Arthur, Cami Buck, Caanan Buck and Christopher Buck; and her best friend, Victoria Dickenson, who taught her to swim and brought so much joy to her life.
The family would like to thank Hospice of North Idaho for their compassion and attentive care in making Lamona comfortable during her last days in their care.
Per Lamona's request, a service will not be held.
In lieu of flowers, you may donate in Lamona's memory to the American Heart Association or the American Parkinson Disease Association.
