Wiggs transferring from Idaho men's hoops team

Sekou Wiggs, a 6-foot-4 point guard from O'Dea High in Seattle, will transfer from the Idaho men's basketball program after two seasons, the school confirmed on Tuesday.

"Sekou has chosen to leave the program," Idaho coach Don Verlin said in a statement. "We wish him the best."

Wiggs started 29 of the team's 30 games this season, averaging 11.5 points per game in 26.3 minutes.

Wiggs started each of the Vandals Big Sky Conference games this season, averaging 11.3 points per game.

As a freshman, Wiggs played in 31 of Idaho's 34 games, coming off the bench in all 31 appearances to average 9.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game while shooting 46.0 percent from the field and 65.8 percent from the free throw line.

He was selected Western Athletic Conference Sixth Man of the Year by CollegeHoopsDaily.com following his freshman season.

Wiggs, along with seniors Connor Hill - a Post Falls High standout - and Mike Scott were the Vandals' top three scorers this season.

Idaho returned to the Big Sky Conference this season, where it was a founding member in 1963.
