COLLEGE BASEBALL: Former Viking Turbin earns honor

DALLAS - Drew Turbin, a senior infielder from Coeur d'Alene, was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, the league announced.

Turbin helped Dallas Baptist improve to 15-2 as he hit .579 (11-for-19) as the lead-off hitter in all five Patriot wins, reaching base 17 times and posting a .654 on-base percentage. He also led the team in RBIs with eight, three doubles and a .737 slugging percentage. In the field, Turbin played flawless baseball, posting a 1.000 fielding percentage on 17 chances.
