NUKES: Hopefully cool heads will prevail

It is sad to see two former governors, for whom I have great respect, grandstanding on the issue of some spent nuclear fuel rods being brought to Idaho.

The so called “Batt Law” prohibits nuclear waste being brought into Idaho for storage. Such is not the case in the governor’s proposal to allow a few spent fuel rods for research. To suggest this poses a great risk to the Snake River aquifer is disingenuous.

Hopefully cool heads will prevail to the economic benefit of Idaho.
