PREP BASEBALL: T-wolves edge Central Valley

SPOKANE VALLEY - Dom Conigliaro and Cody Garza knocked in runs to lead Lake City past Central Valley 2-1 on Monday in nonleague play.

Timberwolf starter Jordan Ross struck out five in four innings, allowing two hits and one run. Reliever Stephen Vandreuil fanned four more without a run in three innings of work.

Ross singled in the third, stole second, then came home on Garza's single. Garza crossed the plate on Conigliaro's single to center.

"I thought it was an OK first game for us," Lake City coach Travis Georgius said. "Jordan threw well - he didn't throw much last year, and we are kind of relying on him to be one of our guys.

"Stephen came out and held them off in the last few innings for us."

The Timberwolves (1-0) travel to Freeman for a 4 p.m. game today.
