LEVY: Do it for the long run
Benjamin Franklin is famously quoted as saying, “An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest.” On March 10, those of us in the Coeur d’Alene school district have a unique opportunity to invest in the knowledge of our community.
This investment goes beyond the obvious long-term benefit of children growing up with an education and becoming informed, contributing members of society. The current state of our schools and the action we take to fund them is influencing business leaders’ decisions to bring their operations (and jobs) to our community. Educated individuals will not choose to live in a community that lacks educational opportunities for their children.
On March 10, please invest a few minutes of your time to go to your local polling place and vote YES for the school levy. It’s an investment that will pay great interest.
