PUBLIC: Not for vested interests
Somewhere as far back as perhaps elementary school most of us picked up on a symbolic phrase for all persons living in the U.S.A. as early as probably first grade, the phrase “WE THE PEOPLE.” Our nation, at least some of its people, now seem centered on a startling discovery of themselves, likely a phrase something like, “TO WHOM DO WE BELONG.” What an ingratiating and demeaning self-discovery.
The fact, or reference to, protocol, in itself, of claiming one religion over another in the conduct of governmental affairs, or identifying regions of prominent ethnic or otherwise homogeneous regions or areas, are, as of today, an outrageous contradiction of the intent of the founders of this, OUR NATION.
Prominent religious, ethnic and political bodies routinely use the American flag and Pledge of Allegiance as a cover for their own self-interest.
A bridge is a bridge. A highway or roadway is just that. School is a school. Bus stop is a bus stop. A town has many streets. Name the streets.
In any case, please, my friends and unknown neighbors, please do not tack a religious, political or cause handle on to a public facility, such as a highway. Name of a worthy and appropriate individual, or individuals, is much more respectful and enduring, and may even be plausible.
