POEM: Endangered species

| June 19, 2015 9:00 PM

On every school, we see the sign

No drugs no guns, that clouds my mind

What kind of world, have we allowed

From where we used to be so proud

No longer does, the right from wrong

Hold to symbols of days long gone

Children’s needs, they should come first

As knowledge builds, their inner thirst

You see and hear, this school will close

For reasons why, God only knows

We take away, more than we give

The things each child, needs most to live

The violence, drugs, that plague our land

How did they get the upper hand

Could it be, that we neglect

What children need, and never get

A billion dollars, spent each year

To chase around, the atmosphere

Ecologists, and all their rights

for animals, they stand and fight

Lets use our resources, one by one

To help our children have more fun

See that they get the things they need

And put aside, the petty greed

Ask them now, what are their wishes

Our children are, the Endangered Species
