Robert 'Bob' E. Daum, 82
Robert "Bob" E. Daum passed away peacefully at his Hayden Lake, Idaho, residence on May 26, 2015.
Born in Chicago, Ill., on Jan. 3, 1933, to Herman Daum, Jr., and Lola Bibow Daum, Bob was the youngest of three boys.
After serving the U.S. Coast Guard from 1951 to 1954, Bob began his career in the electrical wholesale industry. Bob co-founded Norcal Wholesale Electric in Redding, Calif., and founded Lake Electric Supply in Coeur d'Alene. In 1992, after a 40-year career in the electrical industry, Bob retired.
On Aug. 28, 1965, Bob married Kathryn Corcoran. Bob and Kathryn raised four children together in Hayden Lake: Paul, Carl, Michael and William.
Bob enjoyed the natural beauty of North Idaho. One of his favorite activities was spending time on his boat on Lake Pend O'reille. Bob was always up for an adventure in nature: traveling to the Yukon, hiking to remote mountain lakes, fishing, and camping with friends and family gave him great satisfaction.
Bob is survived by his wife, Kathryn, and their four children: Paul, Carl, Michael and William; his daughter Ann and son Jim; grandchildren: Jessica and Jackie; great-grandchildren: Madox and Eliza; and his brother, Ed.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, at the Hayden Lake Eagles Club, 1520 W. Wyoming Ave., Hayden. Lunch will be served after the service.
