Damian C. Johnson, 23

Damian C. Johnson, 23, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, passed away June 7, 2015, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born Feb. 9, 1992, in Fairbanks, Alaska, and has resided in the Rathdrum and Coeur d'Alene area since 2007. He graduated from Mountain View High School in Rathdrum in 2010.

Damian was the biggest Boise State fan! He would take bets with his principal in high school who was an Oregon ducks fan; it made his day to watch him wear that Boise State shirt all day.

Even though we are feeling like we lostDamian way too soon, our heavenly Father knew his time here was done - everything he needed to accomplish here on Earth has been fulfilled. Damian was a rare soul who stood behind the meaning of being unselfish. He was always taking care of family, friends and anyone else he saw in need. His heart was filled with love and compassion for others.

Damian was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gary Hopkins; and his cousin, Tyra Franks. He is survived by his mother, Roxanne Whitaker, and stepfather, Scott Whitaker of Coeur d'Alene; sister Jacqueline Whitaker of Boise and brother Brandon Whitaker of Coeur d'Alene; grandmother Vicki Hopkins of Tooele, Utah; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; his dad, Mark Johnson, grandparents and extended relatives.

Damian will always be remembered as the man that would give the shirt off his own back to help anyone in need. He will be remembered for his laugh, his easy going personality and his love for the Boise State Broncos. He will be truly missed, but we feel comfort knowing that we will see him again.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, at the English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene. Burial will follow at the Pinegrove Cemetery, 6693 W. Highway 53, Rathdrum, Idaho.
