Building on at Prairie Falls
POST FALLS - Prairie Falls Golf Club in Post Falls is planning to break ground this fall on a new event center with a full-service restaurant to follow.
"I want to bring a new energy to this course," said Billy Bomar, who purchased the course last year. "I want to get the Prairie Falls name out in the golf community again, and let people know that this is the new Prairie Falls."
The event center and restaurant will be built to hold about 200 people. It will be built just west of the current clubhouse off Spokane Street.
Christopher Runyan, a Class A member of the Professional Golfers Association (PGA), joined the Prairie Falls team earlier this year to run the daily operations.
"I could not be more excited to help the Prairie Falls golf course grow into what it can and should be," Runyan said.
Over the past year, the new team has updated the driving range, bunkers, pro shop and snack bar. Forty new golf carts were recently purchased.
The par-70 course offers two distinctively different styles. The front nine is an easy-to-navigate parkland, while the back nine is a traditional links style.
This month the course is offering a free small bucket of range balls with every paid greens fee.
