Jason Douglas Gritten, 35, passed away May 17, 2015, in a canoeing accident on the Salmon River with longtime friend, Pat Lusk, doing what he loved.

Jason was born Nov. 4, 1979, in Vancouver, Wash., to Phil and Frahn Gritten. He went to Fort Vancouver High School and graduated from Central Washington University. Jason owned his own advertising company and moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, to be near the great outdoors, which he loved so much.

The family would like to thank all the friends and family who spent tireless hours searching for Jason, as well as the Idaho County Sheriff's Department, and anyone else involved in this journey over the past few weeks. Special thanks to Lake City Community Church for everything they are doing to make Jason's memorial service possible. They would also ask for continued prayers of support for sweet Megan Lusk, Pat's wife.

Cremation has taken place and arrangements are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015, at Lake City Community Church, 6000 Ramsey Road in Coeur d'Alene.
