So many times The Press takes negative hits for bad reporting etc… well… here’s a thumbs up for you. Thanks to the article and pictures you printed on the Emu story, happily she is now home! After being savagely attacked and her pen-mate eaten alive she escaped to the wild — a defenseless and flightless bird! Now almost two weeks later, a young scout on a nature project spotted her in the wild and remembering the article alerted his mom who called Dan the owner. He was at the ready with friends and a trailer who were able to corral her and bring her home.
So, many thanks for your wonderful human interest story that brought about this joyous ending to the lost emu.
