PACKERS: Fanfare for a great team

In reply to Kendall Parrett’s letter, I have been a Green Bay Packer fan since Day One. I was born and raised in Green Bay and I’m proud to be a “Cheesehead.” When I have been asked why Green Bay, I tell them that’s my hometown — then I ask them how long they’ve been a Seahawks fan. Most of the time I don’t get any answer, which tells me they’ve only been fans since the Seahawks started winning, not since 1976 when the ‘Hawks were established.

I’ve been a Packer fan since 1948; you figure the math, through the glory years with Vince Lombardi and with Back the Pack until my last breath! Go Pack! A Cheesehead forever.

I’ve also lived in Atlanta (Falcons) and New Orleans (Saints), where they don’t back their teams unless they’re having a winning season. It takes time and experience to become a gracious winner as well as a gracious loser.
