Mary Margaret Miller, 91

Mary was born on July 11, 1923 in Frontenac, Kansas to Albino and Leopolda Pinamonti, the youngest of four daughters. Following high school graduation she moved with her family to Westwood, California. It was there she met her future husband John Pierson Miller. They were married November 28, 1942 in Reno, Nevada shortly before he was shipped out with his Marine Division to the South Pacific. After the war they made their home in Westwood where they worked for the Red River Lumber Co.

In 1956 they made the move to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho where they resided in the home on 7th Street for 55 years. Mary enjoyed her working years, starting with State Farm Insurance and later retiring with Allstate. She was a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church where she was an active member.

Preceding her in death was her husband John of 66 years and her older sister Lena. She is survived by her son John H. Miller ( Suzy) of Spokane, WA, daughter Monica L. Wheeler (Wade) of Coeur d'Alene. Grandsons, Jason Miller of Dallas, TX, Jerrod Miller of Portland, OR, and Joseph Miller of Spokane, WA, Step-Grandchildren include Taryn Wheeler of New York, NY, Garrett Wheeler of Coeur d'Alene, ID and Cameron Wheeler of Fairbanks, Alaska and eight great grand children. She is also survived by her sister Pearl Barr of Redding, CA and Irma Micone of Sacramento, CA, and various nieces and nephews.

Mary's true passion was her family and all their various activities. A special thank-you to her caregiver and friend Sherry Dodd. She spent her last year at Country Comfort Assisted Living where their care and loving, friendly support was greatly appreciated.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, January 29, 2015 10:00am at St. Pius X Catholic Church 625 E. Haycraft Avenue, Coeur d'Alene 83815 with Father Roger LaChance officiating. There will be a reception immediately following the service. Yates Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
