EVENT: Thanks for the help

The Best Hand Fun Ski was a great success and there were 68 participants. Everyone had a good time and the Panhandle Nordic Club raised $751. Another $500 was offered through an organization. This will help with general maintenance of equipment, grooming of trails and providing winter and summer activities.

The article on Jan. 4 regarding the fundraiser and the Panhandle Nordic Club captured the essence of what the club is about and the enjoyment it provides to the members who are into winter sports. At our monthly meeting on Jan. 6, there were approximately 15 new people and several joined the club in response to the article. Also, we were approached by Avondale Golf Association to do joint activities with them including using their facilities for club meetings and fundraisers.

Devin Heilman and Tess Freeman of The Press, thank you for your interest regarding the Best Hand Fun Ski and the Panhandle Nordic Club, and for the excellent newspaper article and photographs. It was a pleasure talking with you.
