PREP ROUNDUP: Pfennigs gets Trojans past Pocatello

"We play lots of different guys, so we're balanced as far as scoring goes," said Post Falls coach Mike McLean, whose team will play six games in six days with the game today. "We might be reaching our limit for how much we can play with the pressure we want in the full court. We had a hard time controlling guys on defense and need to buckle down and get it done."

COEUR d'ALENE - Tying its season-low in points Friday, Lake City used its defense and rebounding to beat Eastmont of East Wenatchee, Wash. in nonleague play.
"We played pretty well," Timberwolves assistant coach Kelly Reed said. "The ball didn't go in the basket. Sometimes when that happens, you have to rely on your defense. Sometimes, when you have two out of three phases of your game working, defense and rebounding, you have a pretty good chance to win. That's what carried us through the night."
Quinn Mitchell finished with a team-high 12 points and six rebounds for Lake City (5-4), who lost 58-43 at Gonzaga Prep on Dec. 17. Jerry Louie-McGee had seven assists for Lake City.
Brandon Porter scored a game-high 18 points for Eastmont.
