PUBLIC ART: Higher priorities

Mr. Mayor, before we build “public art” in Hayden, I wish we build sidewalks.

I see many neighborhoods without sidewalks. I know maybe many of those are homeowners association duties, but I see also many children walking on streets covered with snow and ice and this is not safe.

So, I think the push for sidewalks should come from the city. Maybe through the city efforts, we could apply for grants to build those things that are more important than art between two buildings!

I would be willing to pay my share to make it safer and improve the image and raise the value of the city as a whole.

We should have learned about “public art” from our neighbors to the south. They call that art, too!
