COEUR d'ALENE - Van Troxel, Orlando Lightfoot, Mindy (Rice) Madsen and the late Bob "Marz" Marzulli will be inducted into the Idaho Athletic Hall of Fame at the 53rd North Idaho Sports Banquet, scheduled for April 11 at the Best Western Plus Coeur d'Alene Inn.

Tickets will be available at the Coeur d'Alene Inn after March 15.

Troxel has been a high school football coach the past 36 years - the last 21 at Lake City. His career record is 217-157-1, including 140-78-1 at Lake City. He coached the Timberwolves to a pair of state titles. Prior to coming to Lake City, Troxel coached 15 seasons at Hellgate High in Missoula. Troxel graduated from Moscow High, and played quarterback at the University of Montana.

Lightfoot remains the all-time leading scorer for both Idaho and the Big Sky Conference, with 2,102 points in just three seasons (1991-94). He scored 50 against Gonzaga in 1993 - the only 50-point game in school history. He was a two-time Big Sky Most Valuable Player. After Idaho, he played professionally in Europe from 1994-2007.

Madsen was a volleyball and basketball standout at the University of Idaho in the mid-1990s. In 1994, she was named Big Sky MVP as she led the Vandals to a 31-3 record, a conference title and a trip to the second round of the NCAA tournament. She was also a three-year letterman for the Vandal women's basketball team, and was named first-team all-Big Sky in 1994-95. Madsen later went on to coach high school volleyball.

Marzulli, who died in 2011 at age 77, was instrumental in forming several youth sports programs in St. Maries. He helped start the Little League program, and coached for 15 years. He started a youth football program and "Marz's Mob," a basketball program for elementary school children. He taught for 20 years at St. Maries High, and helped start the Elks Hoop Shoot and the Punt, Pass and Kick program there.
