| December 31, 2015 8:00 PM

Kelly Nash Nelson, 64, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, passed away suddenly from a heart attack while snowmobiling on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015.

Kelly was born July 13, 1951, in Pasco, Wash. to Eldon and Betty (Quincy) Nelson. He is survived by his loving wife Candy of 45 years; his daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter Brenda, Troy and Peyton Blood; his daughter, son-in-law, grandson and granddaughters Kimberly, Ben, Sean (Hoppe), Alexandra, and Jaylene Ziegler; his mother Betty Nelson; his sister and brother-in-law Lynda and Tom Gilbert; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Eldon; and his two brothers Craig and Bary.

Kelly was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be missed by all who he knew throughout his life.

He was an accomplished businessman who started his own company, Northwest Fence Co., in 1978 with a small crew of three. He spent his lifetime expanding his company and creating new products. In 1995 he founded Mac Industries that focused in securing properties. The two companies eventually merged to become Perimeter Security Group as they branched out into the government contracting. Today it is one of the most widely sought after physical security contractors in the country. This however was not his greatest accomplishment in business, his amazing ability to mentor young men and women will be truly missed. He was larger than life and could make people feel as if they could conquer the world. He continued his work until the time of his death.

Kelly loved spending time in the outdoors elk hunting, playing golf, fishing in Alaska and traveling the Caribbean with his wife, Candy. He enjoyed taking the time to snowmobile with his friends and his family. He spent time attending each of his grandchildren’s sporting events, school plays and concerts. Kelly was quick to tell a story that would make you smile and he instantaneously became the center of any party. We always knew that Kelly loved and cared for each of his family members and friends because he always made time to spend with us.
