Ralph Rudolph Rash, 88

Ralph Rudolph "Rudy" Rash, 88, passed away Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He was born Dec. 13, 1927 in Coeur d'Alene and attended school in Coeur d'Alene. He worked with his mother on the family farm and married Dorothy "Pat" Phillips May 23, 1946 in Spokane, Wash. Sam was born the following year and the Rash family was started! They moved to Eugene, Ore., where Violet was born and given to them to raise as there own and then moved back to Coeur d'Alene in 1949. Butch was added in 1953. In 1957 they moved to Seattle, Wash., and returned again to Coeur d'Alene in 1963 where he worked as a logger until retirement. Ralph and Dorothy celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary in May 2002 before her passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife "Pat" and daughter Violet Stockdale, three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his sons Sam Rash and Butch Rash of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; grandchildren Rose Clark, Victoria, Texas, Jackie Sidmore, Michelle Umphrey of the Silver Valley and Jeff Stockdale of Hayden, Idaho, nine grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. Viewing will be 5 p.m., to 7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 28, 2015 at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel and Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015 at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel. Burial will be later in Forest Cemetery. Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
