Clinton Dean Compton, Sr., 94

Clinton Dean Compton, Sr., of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, died at the age of 94 years on 17 December 2015. Dean was born on 14 February 1921 in Kendrick, Idaho, to Zora M. (Ware) and Stuart W. Compton. He was raised in the Kendrick/Lewiston area, graduated from Kendrick High School, and attended Washington State College. He served in the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific and during the Korean Conflict. He married Mary Anne Lowe on 22 July 1944 in Washington, D.C. They lived in both Texas and Idaho, settling in Coeur d'Alene in 1956. Dean retired from Kaiser Aluminum-Trentwood Works after 30 years of service.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and traveled extensively after his retirement. He and Mary Anne spent many winters in their motor home in Quartzsite, Ariz. He was quick to tell a great story, readily lend a helping hand, and could fix most anything,

His survivors include his wife Mary Anne, daughter Janice C. Hale of Rathdrum, ID, and sons Clint, Jr. of Menasha, WI, and Mark of San Diego, Calif. Dean and Mary Anne have two granddaughters, Rae Deane Burleson and Ami Lee Restoule, 12 great grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sister Nona Mae Johnson of Spokane and brother Richard of Coeur d'Alene. Dean will be greatly missed by all.
