HARRISON FLATS — Kiefer Gibson scored 16 points and Drake Lounsbury added 15 to lead the St. Maries Lumberjacks to a 72-49 win over the Kootenai Warriors in nonleague play Monday night.

Dylan Wright led Kootenai with 13 points.

“We competed,” Kootenai coach TJ Hammond said. “We got in foul trouble in the second half, but we fought hard against a ranked 2A team.”

Bryant Asbury added 11 points for St. Maries (4-1), which hosts Timberlake on Thursday.

Kootenai (2-3) hosts Deary on Thursday.

KELLOGG — Kari Ghramm and Alexis Cordell each finished with 13 points as St. Maries held off Kellogg with clutch free throws in the final minute of overtime.

Marley Chambers led the Wildcats with 15 points.

“It was back-and-forth the whole game,” Kellogg coach Eli Bougard said. “We were able to force some turnovers late in regulation and they hit some big free throws to put it away.”

The Lumberjacks (7-0, 2-0 Intermountain League) face Kootenai on Wednesday in Harrison Flats.
