Ken Haugen, 86

| December 12, 2015 8:00 PM

Ken Haugen, 86, passed away peacefully Dec. 9, 2015 at his home in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

Ken was born Oct. 13, 1929, in Minnesota where he grew up and spent many years in the building business. He and his family moved to Idaho in 1967 — Idaho was the land that he loved! He enjoyed hunting, trap shooting, and just talking and reading about his hobbies. He and his wife, Ellie, loved square dancing, golfing, camping, and playing cards with friends. He was in both the real estate and building businesses before his retirement. He loved the Lord and was active in church activities for many years. He found so much joy in his grandchildren and great-granddaughters.

He is survived by his son David Haugen of Coeur d’Alene, daughter Diane Haugen Nelson and her husband Bill of Sarasota, Fla., grandsons William Nelson (Kerasten) of Rockwall, Texas, and Shane Haugen (Miranda) of Coeur d’Alene; granddaughter Angie Nelson Ramirez of Wellington, Fla,; seven great-granddaughters; and brother Joseph Haugen and his wife Joanne. He was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor Haugen, his brothers Myron, Art and Harry Haugen.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 14, at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Coeur d’Alene.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements. Please visit Ken’s online memorial and sign his guestbook at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
