Lorraine Ellen (Parton) Landwehr, 68

| December 4, 2015 9:00 PM

Lorraine Ellen (Parton) Landwehr was born in Astoria, Ore., the first born of three daughters to Bob and Bernice Parton. She passed away in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, on Nov. 24, 2015, with her family at her bedside.

Lorraine grew up in Clatskanie, Ore., and graduated with honors from Clatskanie High School. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in finance from Lewis-Clark State College and her master’s in business from the University of Idaho. Married for 35 years to the love of her life, Doug Landwehr, they made their home together in Bayview, Idaho.

Early in their marriage, Lorraine worked in Alaska alongside Doug, who is a retired Bristol Bay commercial fisherman. As she finished her education, she went on to be a well respected Certified Public Accountant in the greater Coeur d’Alene area. She was a partner/owner in the CPA firm McCall and Landwehr in Hayden, Idaho, for many years. Doug and Lorraine also ventured into real estate several years ago and became one of the top award winning teams for Century 21 in Coeur d’Alene. She took great pride in serving the North Idaho area with many years and countless hours of volunteer service to the Kootenai County Task Force on Human Relations in Coeur d’Alene, as well as volunteering for the Bayview and Coeur d’Alene Chambers of Commerce.

Lorraine and Doug worked hard and played hard. They traveled the globe together, visiting many countries on every continent during their marriage. However, her greatest joy was to come home to her beautiful Lake Pend Oreille and share her home with her two children and three grandchildren and her family and friends. Her proudest moments were those she spent watching her children and grandchildren as they accomplished their individual goals.

If anyone could fill every corner of a room, Lorraine could with her smile, her laughter and her enthusiasm. Always positive, she was the “rock” for her family. She will be sadly missed by her large extended family and many friends.

Lorraine is survived by her husband, Doug of Bayview; two children, Dacia McLaughlin of Spokane and Eric (Tisha) Gressett of Long Beach, Calif.; three grandchildren, Cloie McLaughlin of Seattle, Christopher McLaughlin of Spokane and Emma Gressett of Long Beach; two sisters, Lorinda (Jim) Bohn of Spokane and Loretta (Dave) Groom of Portland, Ore.; many nieces and nephews; and a large extended family along with many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Bernice Parton.

A private family service was held on Nov. 30, 2015, in Clatskanie, Ore. A celebration of life will be held in the Coeur d’Alene area in the spring and will be announced at a later date.

The family requests memorial donations to the Kootenai County Task Force on Human Relations (KCTFHR), P.O. Box 2725, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83816 in honor of Lorraine and her commitment to serving others.
