Madi Farrell

Northwest Nazarene

volleyball

Farrell, a 6-foot-2 middle blocker from Lake City High, was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association West Region Team — the AVCA names a single All-Region team and honorable mention team and those on the All-Region team are eligible for All-American consideration — and to the Conference Commissioners Association West Region second team. The regional awards are the first for Farrell, who was named to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference first team last month, and earned Great Northern Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year in 2014. Farrell led the conference in blocks (156), blocks per set (1.49) and hitting percentage (.367), and was third on the Crusaders in total kills with 263 this season. She finished fourth in the nation in blocks per set and was 13th in the country in final hitting percentage.

Jake Finney

Washington State cross country

Finney, a freshman from Post Falls that competed at Lake City High, finished 223rd in the NCAA Championships on Nov. 21 at Sawyer Park in Louisville, Ky., finishing in 32 minutes, 26.6 seconds.
