IGNORANCE: A path for hypocrites
In response to Corey Craig’s guest opinion Aug. 25, “Hypocrites abound in same-sex marriage fight,” he states, “Clearly there are people of faith who are sinning as well, and maybe aren’t even aware of it.” He is absolutely correct.
When I wrote on July 10 the letter “COURT: Rainbow before the storm,” I quoted 11 Peter 3:5-7, “For this they are willingly ignorant of,” I was not writing to “sinners” only, but also to “Christians.” An example of “willingly ignorant” is D. Johnson’s letter Aug. 26, “BIBLE: It’s not a weapon to injure,” where he states, “In Genesis, many reference sodom and Gomorrah with homosexuality. The sin was rape, which is not the same.”
Genesis 19:4-5 condensed reads, “The men of Sodom both old and young,” Vs. 4, Vs. 5 “And they called to Lot and said to him, ‘Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally.’”
Sodom is the word we get “sodomy” from. Webster’s definition of sodomy is, “The homosexual proclivities of the men of the city (Sodom) in Genesis 19:1-11.”
As I also wrote July 10, “Willingly ignorant that God has already begun judging America,” note that “Christians” and “sinners” are both experiencing His judgment, because as Mr. Craig pointed out, “Many Christians are clearly sinning and are unaware of it.” In other words, “willingly ignorant.”
