Idaho man sentenced for sex trafficking

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - An Idaho man who once won a battle against the federal government in the U.S. Supreme Court is going to federal prison for sex trafficking in North Dakota.

Michael Sackett, 48, of Priest Lake, pleaded guilty Monday to a sex trafficking charge and was sentenced to a year and a day in prison. He will be on supervised release for five years after that.

Sackett has lived in the oil patch hub of Williston the past three years while working for a gravel company. He was arrested in October 2013.

The Supreme Court in 2012 allowed Sackett and his wife to sue the Environmental Protection Agency.
