Bringing the 2016 campaign out west

OREM, Utah (AP) - Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul will be in Utah later this month for a campaign rally.

The Kentucky senator will appear with Idaho Republican Rep. Raul Labrador at an outdoor rally in Orem on Aug. 29.

The event near Highway 400 North and Interstate 15 starts at 10 a.m. and is open to the public.

Paul's campaign says that while the first-time presidential candidate is in Utah, he'll attend several events that are not open to the public or media.

One will be a fundraiser on Friday, Aug. 28 in Salt Lake City hosted by Overstock.com CEO Patrick Byrne.

Overstock.com spokeswoman Kirstie Burden said that will be a private dinner.
