COLUMN: Nothing but bad science
I read the article by Jim Pearl that this newspaper felt was worth a third of a page.
Like Jim, I love science and information on many subjects and have ever since I was very young. Back in the day when my peers were getting drunk and smoking pot, I was reading books. I also was very involved for 10 years in a church in the town I grew up in until moving away. I understand and have lived both sides of the science vs. religion debate.
Unfortunately, many people on one side or the other have no knowledge or understanding of the other side. This makes it easy for them to reject or dismiss the other side’s claims.
Mr. Pearl makes wild claims of “dinosaur meat” or dinosaur bones with DNA and Carbon-14 in them. Unfortunately, Mr. Pearl does not offer any proof, any evidence.
Where is the lab studying the dinosaur meat? What museum has the dinosaur bones with DNA and Carbon-14 in them? What credible publication documents these claims? Where is the documentary that shows the dinosaur meat or bones?
Unsubstantiated claims are just blowing smoke. Please, Mr. Pearl, write back to this newspaper and present your evidence or proof of your claims. I have not found any, not one. I will be waiting. I believe I will be waiting a very long time.
