REBUTTAL: Take that, conservatives
Thank you, Bonnie Brown, for your great column about management. Mr. Peterson, quit being so serious. She said manage, not get rid of. If fracking is so cost effective, why is Avista asking for a rate increase? Maybe you should ask the people who live near fracking wells about lighting their tap water on fire. Remember, you cannot eat money, drink oil or breathe radioactive air. So a big amen to that, Ms. Brown.
Republicans talk about the liberals’ state of mind. Look what happened to Jim Myers from “Turkeys for All” when he expressed his opinion about Republicans. I am sure he will find anyone more qualified than these four backstabbers to take their place. Get real, people, it is a worthwhile charity, not a political arena! I saw not one letter to the editor in his defense. You know, supposedly no punishment for “free speech” et. al. While we are on mindless parties, wasn’t it the Republicans who came up with the “legitimate rape theory?”
As usual, there are people that just do not understand satire. The responses from Mr. Lopez and Mr. Hallock are so typically Republican rhetoric. I noticed they did not use the words “dumbest’’ and “waste of ink’’ about Mr. Purtee’s “Sick in America” column when it was about bashing the Democrats.
Thank you, Phil, for the tip about those kids who signed our names to that column we wrote (The Other Side of the Coin). We found their teachers and they told us that they were the smartest and most enlightened students they had ever taught. In fact they are sure to get scholarships to Harvard or Yale when they get older. Since they were so well informed we decided to let it go. Laughing stock indeed. From all of the phone calls and cards we received from people with only positive remarks, there is a lot of laughing going on, but not at us.
I’m waiting for the EPA bashing to start, but try to remember that if the mining companies would have properly cleaned up their garbage when they closed, this spill wouldn’t have happened. Just ask BP Oil Company about accidents happening and the destruction of the gulf.
Mr. Patrick is right. I remember past letters referring to liberals (that dreaded word) to cancer, cockroaches, communists, Satan, demons and so on. So as long as people continue to bash and slander the Democratic Party (moderate or liberal) with anger and hate, I am going to respond. However, unlike the Republicans, I will try to be polite about it and keep my name-calling to a minimum.
