Idaho Falls Zoo has new baby zebra, named Adanna

IDAHO FALLS (AP) - The Idaho Falls Zoo at Tautphaus Park has welcomed its newest animal: a baby zebra born July 17.

The Post-Register reported the zebra was born earlier last month and received her name - Adanna - last week. The name means "loving daughter to her father" in Swahili.

The zoo now has three zebras, including Adanna's parents. Once the baby zebra reaches sexual maturity, in two to three years, she will be moved to another zoo, a move officials said is used to prevent inbreeding.
